Less Impact House

Project Tour

Project Tour :: LESS impact HOUSETM

There was a moment very early on in the planning of the house where we all realized this wasn't going to be just a place to sleep or prepare food; it was going to be an example for the community.

Since the naming of the project as the LESS impact HOUSETM it's never been referred to as "my" house or "their" house but as something un-owned, an experience to be shared, called by name. To enhance this shared experience ideology we thought of all the new eco-friendly materials, green products, and less impact corporations involved in green building and remodeling which should be shared with the public through the platform of the LESS impact HOUSETM. So we contacted companies and pitched the idea of partnering to create this example - the support was amazing.

LESS impact HOUSETM Sponsors
We received our appliances from one of the greenest corporations we know of, Electrolux. Our water saving fixtures are sponsored by Kohler. The LESS impact HOUSETM lighting is from Encompass Lighting Group which owns Tech Lighting, Element, 2Thousand Degrees, and LBL to name a few. The potable surface roofing is from DOW Roofing. The closets are the only bamboo closets the owners could find, and Classy Closets from Phoenix made them. The insulation is from Demilec and Bondlogic. The paint is low VOC from Frazee Paint. The beautiful polished concrete was done by Casas Custom Floor. The cork tile came from Expanko. The wine racking is recycled racking from Vintage Cellars. The central vacuum is from Vacuflo. The exterior has Belgard permeatable pavers, and extremely well insulated exterior Dryvit System. For a full list of sponsors, please visit the Sponsors and Resources page.
